When Do Kittens Get Vaccinated

When do kittens get vaccinated. Until your kitten is fully vaccinated and neutered you should keep him or her inside. Too late and kittens will be left susceptible to infection.

After this kittens and cats usually need booster vaccinations every twelve months. When kittens are nursing antibodies in their mother s milk help protect them from infections. Kitten vaccines are usually first given at about six to eight weeks of age and repeated approximately every three weeks until about 16 to 18 weeks of age. After that cats should be taken for a vaccination appointment every year although not all vaccines will be given at every appointment as some jabs provide protection for longer than others.

They will have an initial injection and then a second about 3 weeks later as well as a thorough health check and discussion about all aspects of kitten care including neutering flea and worm protection diet and behaviour.
